Photography FAQ

How do I calculate depth of field?

Enter the sensor format, focal length, aperture and focus distance into the depth of field calculator. It returns the near and far focus limits, total depth of field and hyperfocal distance.

What are equivalent exposures?

Different combinations of ISO, aperture and shutter speed that give the same exposure value. The exposure triangle calculator lists them and explains the effect on depth of field and motion.

How large can I print a photo?

Enter the pixel dimensions into the photo print size calculator. It returns the maximum print size at 300, 200 and 150 DPI for common print formats, and also works in reverse.

How do I remove location data from photos?

Drop up to 50 photos into the EXIF bulk stripper. It removes GPS location, serial numbers and timestamps and shows a before and after map, then you download the clean copies.

How do I correct a long exposure on film?

Choose your film stock and enter the metered time in the film reciprocity calculator. It applies the Schwarzschild formula and covers 27 stocks from Kodak, Ilford, Fujifilm and Rollei.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Every tool processes files in your browser, so photos never leave your device.
