What you don't know about your photos
The EXIF standard allows cameras and phones to embed a rich set of metadata into every photo. This includes GPS latitude and longitude (accurate to within metres), the exact date and time, camera make and model, sometimes the serial number of the device, and the software used to edit the image. This data is completely invisible to the naked eye - you would never know it is there just by looking at the photo.
Real estate agents routinely post exterior shots of a property before it is listed - revealing the exact address. Parents share photos of children. Business owners photograph their workspace. Any of these can inadvertently reveal sensitive location data to anyone who downloads the image.
Strip EXIF in bulk - no upload, no account
Drop up to 50 photos and thumbnails appear with red "GPS found" badges on any photo that contains location data. Click any photo to see its full EXIF table; GPS coordinates link to a map showing exactly where it was taken. Strip all EXIF and download clean copies as a ZIP; original files are untouched.
FAQ
What personal information is hidden in my photos?
Every photo taken on a smartphone or modern camera embeds metadata including GPS coordinates (your precise location), the device make and model, camera serial number, date and time, and software used. This data is invisible unless you look for it - and anyone who downloads the image can see it.
Do social media platforms automatically strip EXIF data?
Most do, but not all. Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram strip EXIF on upload. However, some platforms preserve it, and if you share photos via email, messaging apps, or direct file sharing, the full EXIF data is included. Stripping before sharing is the only reliable approach.
Is this safe to use with photos of my home or clients?
Yes. The EXIF stripping uses the HTML Canvas API which runs entirely in your browser. Your photos never leave your device and are never stored anywhere. This makes it safe for real estate photos, client images, and any other sensitive content.
