Privacy Policy

Short version: your files never leave your device. We collect almost no personal data. The only data we hold is your email address and subscription status if you subscribe to Pro.

1. What we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to operate the service:

  • Nothing for free users. No account is created, no files are transmitted to us, and no personal data is collected beyond the anonymous analytics described below.
  • Email address and subscription status if you purchase a Pro subscription. This is stored by Stripe and used only to manage your subscription and send login links.
  • Anonymous usage analytics via Cloudflare Web Analytics. This collects page views and country-level geography with no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no cross-site tracking.

2. Your files stay in your browser

All file processing - conversions, metadata editing, calculations - runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. No file content is ever sent to our servers or any third party. Files exist only in your browser's memory and are discarded when you close the tab.

3. Local storage

We use localStorage in your browser to store:

  • Your daily usage count per tool (to enforce the free tier limit).
  • Your Pro subscription status if you have subscribed.
  • Your colour scheme preference (light / dark).
  • Per-tool saved state (e.g. saved recipes, recent conversions) where the tool offers it.

This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data for bentoutils.com.

4. Stripe (payments)

If you subscribe to Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your email address and subscription status from Stripe. We never see or store your payment card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.

5. Cloudflare

BentoUtils is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and performance purposes in accordance with Cloudflare's privacy policy.

6. Cookies

We do not set any cookies. We do not use any advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data retention

If you cancel your Pro subscription, your email address is retained in Stripe's records per their data retention policy. We do not maintain a separate user database. To request deletion of your Stripe customer record, email us and we will process it promptly.

8. Children

BentoUtils is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above. Continued use of BentoUtils after changes constitutes acceptance.
