How far apart should fence posts be?

1.8-2.4m for a 1.8m fence in a normal wind zone with 100x100mm posts. In exposed or severe zones, spacing must be reduced. The calculator determines the safe maximum for your conditions.

How deep should a fence post be set?

Generally at least 1/3 of above-ground height. For 1.8m fence, at least 600mm deep. Deeper in soft ground or high wind zones. The calculator computes the correct depth.

Why do fences blow down in storms?

Posts too shallow, spacing too wide, or standard spacing used in exposed locations. Hilltops and coastal sites face 50-70% more wind force than sheltered suburban sites.
